A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
Welcome, and thank you for visiting. My name is Denise Oliver-Morgan and I am a counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy near London Bridge and online.
My name is Denise Oliver-Morgan. I am a BACP registered Counsellor and Therapist and work privately in London. I first began working privately with clients in 2001, I have worked with an extensive number of problems which people can experience in life.
I have worked in a number of therapeutic settings, I undertook my training hours and held a practice for some years after qualification with London Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have also worked in school based settings working with young people aged 5-18 to help support them with issues that can cause barriers to learning.
I currently run a part-time private practice on Saturdays near London Bridge and Borough Market, where I see clients from a number of backgrounds for individual and couples counselling, with a wide range of problems which includes anxiety, depression, relationship problems, self confidence issues, identity issues, self harm, abuse, anger, stress.
Due to the pandemic and our usual lifestyles having to change I began working online to maintain my existing practice as well as to support new clients who found lockdown raised new difficulties which had never been considered. I still continue to offer an online service.
To discover if I can provide you with an avenue to explore your presenting problems, you can contact me via email or telephone to arrange an initial consultation, following this we can discuss whether talking therapy is the route you wish to pursue.
Either option is private and confidential and only monitored by myself.
I feel that it is important to match the therapy orientation to the person, I feel being able to use a range of therapy theories enables the opportunity for this to occur rather than trying to fit a person to one type of therapy. The relationship between therapist and client is just as important and the ability to connect with someone you feel comfortable with is of great importance to the progression of the work. I continue to attend courses, seminars and workshops to continue my own self development and to maintain current links with this ever changing industry.
I have been working in private practice since 2001 and have had extensive and various experience in working with many individuals focusing on a number of life difficulties and enabling them to work through these and enabling them to have more positive outcomes in their lives. I believe the journey is a shared process.
Some clients have stayed for long periods of time, some have only continued for a few months, sometimes clients feel they want to attend in blocks of a few months have a break, then return. I work with individuals to enable them through their difficulties so they are able to move forward without the intervention of therapy, but strongly acknowledging that each person's needs are individual them and that is the driving force of our journey together.
Whether your need is for long or short term therapy, we can explore which avenue will suit you best in our journey together.
Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
Many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
